Alexander Lykins has had a passion for home brewing since he was 14 years old starting by making wine and eventually upgrading to beer at the age of 22, He has spent years appreciating brewing culture attending many local and regional events, visiting hundreds of craft breweries and doing pro-bono sustainability work for some smaller craft breweries. Alexander has a background in sustainability strategy, operations and communications. Currently he works as the Sustainability Coordinator at Union College and serves as the Communications Chair on Schenectady County Environmental Advisory Council. Alexander has a B.A. in Human Development and a B.A. in Global Studies with a concentration in Sustainability from SUNY Oswego and is pursuing an MBA in Sustainability at Bard College
Sam has worked for Union Square Hospitality group in New York City for the past three years learning the industry and seeing how how beer functions within hospitality operations. He holds a bachelors degree in economics from Trinity College in Hartford with a focus on business development. He is also an avid home
brewer and has been brewing with his father for six years. Having completed his first year towards Bard’s MBA in sustainability Sam wants to put his skills to work by helping breweries to promote and grow craftsmanship within the industry. Sam joined Sustainabrew as a founding partner and CFO.
Brett has worked at Sierra Nevada Brewing Company as an intern for the environmental health and safety department. He has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science with a focus in management and policy from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. He is attending Bard College to get dual masters degrees in environmental policy and a MBA in sustainability. He has joined SustainaBrew as a Co-Founder and Chief Policy Officer.
